05 Sunfire brakes?
Thursday, May 19, 2005 2:19 PM
I just got a complete rear end from a 05 Sunfire .

Well I notice the brakes are larger then the ones on my 96 Cavalier .
The mount up looks like they will work with out much effort .

My question is are the 05 brakes better then a 96 Cavalier ?
Just woundering if it will be worth my while .

Thanks

rear brakes only account for like 10% of your stopping power so id say not worth it at all...

The 05's brakes are a different setup than your 96'. The newer ones are an anchor style where only the top pushes out. As opposed to the 96' where it pushes out and wedges itself to the drum. I would say the 96' style is better. GM probably went to the anchor style because it is cheap. Probably will fit on your car, but with a little less stopping power.
