Not worrying about the cost, is it worth buying for a 2.4 twin?

...it's a nice system, good looking mufflers...I had the quad tip one, but the mufflers kept scraping. Also, if you are interested in performance, ill go ahead and beat everyone else to the punch...all the second pipe and muffler do is add more weight. Some might argue you may lose some torque, and it'll definitely be a bit louder than a single catback system because of the increased exhaust volume in the extra pipe. However, if looks are more your thing, this system looks great. Up to you, my friend. good luck..

Buy the parts separate, have an exhaust shop weld up some bends, a full exhaust system for half the price.

My exhaust, with custom 2.5" down pipe, 2.5" high flow cat, and 2.5" In, Dual 2.25" out flowmaster muffler all bent up and installed is only about $320.

i prefer single catback systems myself. you can do a 4-2-1 header, high flow, cat, and catback exhaust with muffler for under $350.

only worth it if it does what you want it to....

do you NEED or WANT two mufflers? these cars dont NEED em so its more for show. so do you WANT two?

if so then it might be worth it.

So getting headers and Cat back single exhaust system would have more power then duel??

Re: Is it worth the money?

not necessarily....

but look at it realistically...

for what reason would you NEED an extra muffler. besides the look all it is is extra weight.

you have to make the decision, looks or performance.

Under $350 for a 4-2-1 header, high flow cat, and catback exhaust with muffler? Maybe for a 2200 but I challenge someone to find that for an Ecotec. I just don't see it, not performance parts.

$130 for header and b pipe
$50 for cat
$30 for muffler
$60 for intake
$80 for custom catback made
=====
$350 for header, full exhaust, and intake... you just have to know how to get deals. that's what i paid for everything.

170 for the header, meaning my local shop prob sells for 160. can prob find one for less if you shop around.
local place nat. budget muffler installs catbacks for 120-150 they supply the pipe.
magnaflow cat 40-50$
muffler 30$

only problem is, and some may get mad for me saying, people make posts, where do i get this or that, but no one bothers to take some time to do some researching on places online and local.

i can honestly say most of the people who have found decent deals were unlazy enough to take the time to look around.

its only the truth

absolutely. it's just like grocery shopping. isn't it better to shop where you can get product A for $4 instead of product A at other place for $6... the money you save by doing your shopping adds up to something else you will want later on.

....it may be beneficial to the guy to get some brands...topsub, go with a pacesetter header, they are cheap, and their head pipe didnt crack like my previous rk unit did...i like the catco highflow cats....if you are looking for (in my opinion), the best performance spending the least cash, 100% go with a s2.25inch single catback pipe (which the local exhaust shop can provide), and a pepboys muffler. there are better sounding mufflers (I had an apexi brand n1 style once...but it cost me $250.00, no joke), but I doubt they are gonna justify spending so much more money on your budget.

hope it helps..

I bought my HKS muffler for $30. Just bought it from a really pissed off guy who got a ticket in his supra doing 94 in a 40 and had to sell everything he had bought for the car that was uninstalled. i got an expensive muffler for cheap!

okk wait...

hold up...

if you are buying a turbo, you're prob gonna want larger than 2.25 exhaust.

might wanna hold off and see if you are actually gonna get the turbo or not before buying.

turbo pipe sizes require a whole new size deal if you want it to be efficient.

like Event said, if you are going to buy a turbo in a month then there is no need for a 2.25 inch exhaust. i would go with a 3 inch exhaust with a turbo.
i think maybe you need to sit down and do some more research into what you want and what size exhaust pipe needed. you dont want to end up paying like $2500 for a turbo and exhaust system then realize you dont want it

Ya, i know i am getting turbo.

So for a turbo am i going to need a custom built 3in exhaust,

Is there any company that makes exhaust for cavaliers with turbos?

Or.. do most people have one custom built when they get a turbo with 3in pipeing and some flowmaster mufflers?

not flowmasters. if you are running over 10 psi, then 3" piping could be an option. have 3" custom exhaust turbo-back.

you don't want 3" piping for 8 psi 2.5" downpipe, turbo-back piping. no cat is better, but a high flow cat and a good turbo muffler.
