B&m Short throw shifter

Ok so i just got this today, and im pretty excited to put it in. Any way my question is simply this: after looking through the directions, it seems theres a couple different things you have to do depending on which stock shifter you have.I wasnt aware that they're were 2 different types. This is for the 95-99 cavalier by the way, and i have a 99 2200. So i was just wondering if anyone knew what year came with what type of shifter. In perticular, im not looking forward to grinding anything, so i'd like to know what i need before i tear the damn thing out. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

You need to grind off the rivit heads on the 95-99 shifters..... but install is a piece of cake. Only way to figure it out, is to rip your shifter out, and set it down next to your kit. If you dont think you can do it, go to your regions regional forum, and look for people in your region that will help you...... (IE, in WI, I'm one of the go-to guys..... every region has one.)

I'm sure you can handle it though.
