intake with bung for iat

...had some extra cash, thought i'd get rid of my ghetto rigged (I mean, "custom", ahem...) wai, and buy a nice looking one. Was wondering which companies made a wai that 1-fully replaced the factory s-tube, and 2- had a predrilled hole for the iat. was looking at jbp's vibrant one, but cant tell by the pic if it has one. anyone know of as model? (dont want a fender well cai, i had the rk model, and i got tired of cleaning the filter every week).

make your own, alot cheaper, easier, and you can put the hole where you want it (for more accurate air temp measurement)

my suggestion.

how far away from the throttle body is a good place to put the iat sensor.

usually the closer to the tb is better as its more accurate of the air going in...

farther away might be a degree or two cooler, but if you dont have the temp air to support it, it can be a waste of gas.

roughly i just try to keep it the same distance as it were in stock form, unless you have something like a cryo2 kit, then closer to the TB would def benefit.

...to risk sounding like a yuppie who is careless with his cash, I really don't mind spending the extra dough on a nice looking intake...anyone know if there is an intake for our cars with a pre-drilled iat sensor? if not, how do ya get a good seal from the self-drilled hole? ('cause the iat is kinda oval shaped at the seam) tahnks in advance, and thanks for the previous input, event..

sure, check the post at the top of the forum, plenty of places. usually in the 180-200$ range for an intake.

as for the hole. drill a hole yourself, go to the auto parts store buy a grommet. for less than 5$ theres a hole made that has an air tight seal. thats including the drill bit and the grommet set.

thats basically what every other intake company does.

your call though. for the money most spend on intakes, they could have intake and headers, or an intake and pulley set.

but you gotta spend how you wanna.

..thanks again, event. i already have all the bolt-ons, lol, just wanted a lil show piece...well, showier than my current setup. think ill go with the vibrant, and drill the hole myself, maybe a bit close to the tb for good measure. thanks..
