i was in an HO intake thread and someone said something about repinning the harness and it would change ur rev limiter to 6800 rpm's. could someone tell me what i would need to do this and how i would go about doing it. thanks

read it again.

I didn't say that you had to just repin the wiring harness.

You need an Ho ecm and then repin the harness. But you didn't even put what car you have. 96 and maybe some 97 2.4 can be repin for the Ho ecm but if you have a 97+, forget it.

The Ho ecm will have a rev limiter of 6800rpm, not the 2.4 ecm.

I have a 96' 2.4 so by doing the ho swap i will get that new rev limiter?

yes but it doesn't give you anything more. you won't gain more power than 1-2hp and you'll be reving for no reason past 6200rpm

there's no point in having a higher redline if you aren't making power up there. dropping oil pressure is a negative also.

Thats why you need to have the setup I have.....

2.3 oil pump swap
2.4 block
086 head
pnp head
Hyperuetectic sealed power pistons
stock crank and rods

Now I am looking to do the OBD1 computer from a 91 HO Grand Am, plus adding the w41 chip. I want the better fuel curves and tuning abilities.
