MSD ignition replacemeNT

Is this a replacement for he 2.4 DIS system.

that is for the HEI , used in the 74-up chevy V8 ignitions


as far as i know no one makes a replacement coil for us , unless we switch to the 2.2 , 3.1, 3.4 , 3.5 , 3.8 style coils

ok so my next question now you mention 3.1 will this fit a 2000 Chevy Malibu 3100

part number 8224 from msd will be a direct fit for most all gm cars with dual tower coil packs...

those are the ones i have on my car (2200) now. those will also do most 2.8, 3.1, etc. that use the same style gm coil pack.

what can i expect to see from it if i put it in my wifes malibu. I know i won't get any power if any from it but will it help smooth out the idle more and help with gas mileage.

pretty much. its basically like a tune up, just a bit more efficient.

yeah , and use a good set of plug wires

and new plugs too
