i have a 98 cavalier 2.4 with cold air intake, 2.3 ho intake manifold, 56 mm throttle, obx header, complete exhaust, port and polished head, bore .10 over and secret cams. i want some more power, im thinking of getting n2o soon but i want to do my internals first. i was thinking of getting a better flowing head and some better cams. i have heard that the 086 head is pretty good. any sugestions that i should do to get
me the most power. thanks
You could go back and do the head over but with our cars, our power doesn't neccesarily rely in the head like for example Honda motors. They have Variable Valve timing so when they do a head swap or change their cams, it's a huge gain.
Look into either boost (turbo/supercharger) or nitrous. It's really up to you. If you want to run serious power, those are your two options...it just comes down to personal preference. Do more research into Nitrous and how it works if you really want to do it.
Good luck

who else makes a better flowing head for our cars
rsm does have a ported head for the 2.4.

Mantapart has a cyl head as well:

I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
Have you done any driveline mods, fuel delivery or MSD??
no i havent i will be getting the emange installed soon. would you recommend getting the head from rsm or taking my head down and getting it ported and polished and a valve job?
You really don't need any fuel mods. You might actually run rich, so you could use something to turn it down. The emanage is a good step in the right direction.
Go with the RSM head over the Mantapart...

how would the rsm compare to taking it to a performance shop and having them port and polish the head.

Well if you think about it...you'll probably spend as much money (or close to) taking the head out, paying them to p & p the head and install it when you can get a brand new head with new springs & retainers (possibly new valves). Also, if you take it to some shop to p & p the head, they don't flow bench test it (usually). If you get it from RSM, they are very specific to how they port it and how the head should flow. That's how I see it.
