We're thinking about advertising on this site for our new high flow intake manifolds that were developed for the Fiero, but we need someone, actaully a few someones to let us know about hood clearence for the J-bodies. BTW: these manifolds will flow enough CFM to support up to 350 HP at high rpm. For info on them checkout the specs, pictures and dyno results at trueleo.com. There's also a hugh posting on this on Pennock's Fiero forum (hi-flo updates).
We're hoping it will fit your cars too and just need afew people to do a real simple test for us. Basicially, we need someone to take two 2"inch sections of a paper towel tube, cut one so that it can fit around the other, set them open to near 4" and then place them on top of the GM intake and close the hood. If the hood hits it, the one will telescope into the other and give you the clearence. Our manifolds (we have short and long runner types) are about 2" higher than stock. These manifolds allow those engines to breath and we think they will be a very welcomed item for the J-bods, You can post your findings here or send them to me at rspiderii@aol.com. Thanks people
We have at least one person taking their Fiero to the Daytona meet, so if you'd like to see the manifold on a car and talk with someone using it, just the Fiero people who has it. The feedback we're getting from users is awsum, it realy makes those engines scream.
I wanted too mention that the 87'+ Cavalier 2.8/3.1 is exclusively aluminum head. They changed the intake port spacing, so unfortunately iron and aluminum head intake manifolds arn't interchangable. Are you going too also manufactur a lower intake manifold (with injector bosses) also?

So what makes yours any better than the already available Edelbrock units?

Did anybody ever check the clearence to see if it would work on a 2.8 Cavalier RS? I could do it but there's no point in wasting my time if somebody else already did it.

kerNol the Edelbrock 60* intake is for cast iron heads it will not work with aluminum heads . I should know I have one for a V6 going inot my Fiero .
