I am fairly new to this site and don't post much but any opinions would be great. oh yeah i already searched. I just had the rksport single cat-back installed on my car and i'm wondering what to do next. should i get a short throw shifter or an intake?
i did read it, i just wanted some opinions. thanks
Your gonna want to get an intake. Then, get the mounts, then order a high flow cat and header, have them installed. BAM! You are running full exhaust whoopin everybody. It'll put you up 15-20 hp easy. You can basically work up from there. If you do it right, it won't be too cheap, but well worth it.
well it is your car you have to decide what you want to do. intake is good, engine mounts, etc etc
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!

if you havent already, sit down, make out a list and realistically plan what you want to accomplish, then buy the parts that you need to accomplish it.
thats honestly what i would do next. everyones gonna tell you mainly what they would do if it were their car, but then again, they might not have the same goals as you.
you know what you wanna do, everything you add is a piece to the puzzle, so really it doesnt matter how you add it and in what order, simply just as long as it gets done.

Event is right but if you want my opinion as far as if it was my car...I personally don't like to do stuff incomplete. If I started changing the exhaust system, I would finish the exhaust system with a header and catalytic converter. That would be the harder part of the bolt ons. If it was my car also, the first thing I would have done was change the intake system (which was actually my first mod to my car) to help bring a better airflow into the motor.
It really does all come down to you and what you can afford. Good luck on your decision.

15-20 horse power from intake, muffler, header and highflow cat ???
I was thinking more like 10 horsepower....throw in a bigger TB and maybe 15 hp total
would you really expect 15-20 from those items?
Tanks guys. I think I'm going with the intake next until I can afford the headers and new cat. Thanks again for everyone's input.
.....no one has said it yet, but you might wanna think about just getting the upper mount instead of the upper and lower. You can afford to get that as well as an intake (I think I paid $25.00 for mine.)....reason I say is because take it from a guy with a semi-gutted interior, header back to side exit exhaust, and both mounts....the noise and vibes don't bother me, but I dont use my car for daily driving, I have two other cars...my cavi is my weekend warrior. If it your main usage ride, and you aren't too much into heavy footed driving or competition use, maybe you would prefer just the upper mount...it'll stop engine rock (so you dont crack your head pipe), but wont transfer as much vibes.
And to all the people who are gonna say you dont wanna mod your car if you cant take the extra noise are people who never try to impress first dates. Had a night on the town with a young lady who asked me on the highway..."um, is there something wrong with your car?"..
And I thought I was impressing her, lol. I think I am losing my hearing in my left ear too...
...don't hate!.. respect people that have talent, even if it is in something you don't like or understand.
Where did you find you upper mount for $25.00? I've looked at a couple different sites and the prices are all in the 120.00 range.

if you can swing it get both mounts.
i as well have a header, as well as a flex pipe, and i;ve had a lower mount since around 30-40,ooo miles.
the vibrations are not nearly as bad as most make it out to be.
even with one mount, the lower half of the engine will rock just as well. most will not see this due to the lower half will move the most and the upper will remain pretty much stationary.
and vice versa, adding a lower mount only, with hood open, and no upper mount insert, the top will rock the most when throttle is applied.
best bet is to get both, then you are sure NEITHER side rocks.
and yes, mine is daily driver, now with 128,ooo miles as of today from getting tires put on. both engine mounts have been in for over 90,000 miles.
you're either gonna mod your car for performance, or mod it to impress people. if you wanna impress, you might wanna think about staying mostly stock.
performance and luxury is a balance, you have to give to get.

buy an intake. If you like to be vibrated and rattled but mounts. I had them, but I wasnt a fan of the way they would vibrate my car.
I'll have a sig someday....................
