alright, i have had a slow exhaust leak, and i could tell it was somewhere close to the motor, me n my dad took it to our shop tonight and put it on the lift, exactly what i thought, the flex joint after the manifold is shot, and my dad said jsut to take it to an exhaust shop and have the put a new one on, but he said it will be pretty expensive for just that little piece cuz he said it needs to be welded on, i was wondering what that cost???? I was thinking tho, since i want a header really bad, and i have been eyeing up a pacesetter armor coated header for a while, and i could hardly hold of on the GP but, i had too, but now that this happend, i mise well right? does the pacesetter come with a flex joint? and i was wondering what the header install is like on a 2.4, cuz i could do it, so im deffinatly not paying an arm and a leg to have some1 else do it, and while it was at the exhaust shop, i think im going to have them put on 2.25 pipe all the way back, but keep the muffler i have and stock cat, i will get a high flow someday, just bare with me...cant ask for too much at once lol....i was wondering what it would cost to run 2.25 from the header to the classic fart-can(yes i know it is, but i like it)
call exhaust shops and ask, shouldnt be more than 30-40$ BUT
every place is different.
pacesetter comes with a flex joint, but most do add flex pipes in addition.
makes little sense though to get a header, and larger exhaust and leave the cat small. you can do it, but if you went that far, 50$ more shouldnt be an issue.
but really you need to call around to YOUR local shops tommorow. every place in every state is different with prices. aim for smaller non commercialized shops.
