Ok, so it's like this. I drive an auto and my TRAC OFF warning light is on and won't go off and my car shifts at 3000 RPMs and it sucks. The only way to get any power outta the whole band width is to shift it manually. I have no clue what is going on and before I go take it somewhere I wanted to see if anyone on here knew what was up with it. Thanks in advance.
My Check Engine light has been coming on and off for about a year now, but I have done a lot of mods to the exhuast systems since then. The TRAC OFF light came on just recently and I hadn't done nothing to it. I did just put on the autotrans interceptor this weekend, but the light was on before that.
Ahh that might explain it, when you installed the interceptor, did you disconnect your battery for 30 minutes? MIne did something similar. My car threw on the CEL, and stayed in 2nd gear the whole time, because I didn't disconnect my battery. After that, probs went away.
Thanks for the help and I'll try it, but like I said the light was on before I installed the interceptor. Another thing that just popped in my head, the check engine light came on right after I installed the A'pexi Air/Fuel meter. I figured it was just because I messed with emissions, but then again, I'm no mechanic.
what is the TRAC OFF light mean? does my 03 have one of those?
automatics have it.....its traction control
thanks
so is that indication based uponw heny our tires slip in a turn...or when your tires spin becasue of slippery roads?
Tc works with the ABS detects wheel speed differance then cuts cuts down the pulse width at the fuel injectors to limit engine power to the wheels and helps to regain traction. But I,m glad there is a switch on my dash to shut the Tc off. Some times wheel spin is a good thing.
