right so i have black smoke in my exhaust after installing the 2.3L HO manifold.
its a 96 so i blocked off the EGR and put an EGR sim on there. do i have to block it off ont he exhaust side too? black smoke is caused by burning fuel right? what is causing this problem? im also getting a sputtering. ill push on the gas and it will feel like i let off the gas ( but i didnt) then it will kick back in. and if you listen to the exhaust you can tell its sputtering
any help would be great
What sensors did you use? 2.3 ones or 2.4 ones? What TB? Where is the map hooked up at? If you disconnect the EGR sim does the problem go away? Hows it idle?

Sounds like your MAP sensor is hooked up to the wrong port on the manifold resulting in a rich situation. I'm honestly not sure which port I hooked mine up to when I had one on my 96 cavy. Search around and find some pictures. Either that or try a different port.

im using all of the 2.4L sensors except a 2.3L IAC
i have the EGR wired into the MAP like instructions say to do , could this be my problem?
What throttle body are you using? I dont have any experiance with the EGR sim, so i cant help you on that. Where is your map hooked up to?

im using the 56mm TB i beleive its the 2.3L... i got it from fstcavz24
so answer the rest of the questions i asked before, how does it idle, does the problem fix itself if you unplug the EGR sim, where is the map hooked up to?

you need to use your stock tps so it will hook up. you will only have one bolt that fits into the 2.3 throttle body. liike mentioned before make sure your map sensor is hooked up corectly
ill check my map sensor location... the idle is a tiny bit rough, i havnt tryed unhooking the EGR yet but will go outside and try it right now
check the vac. line that comes up from by the a/c compressor. That one should go to the top vac. port on the t/b, not to the intake manifold.
