I was wondedring if anyone has stroked an Ecotec motor to like 2.4l. Is this a good idea or bad? I know that it will make more torque and lower the redline, but since im an automatic, wouldnt it be better to have more torque like that at the wheels?
I doubt there is a kit for the motor, so is it possible to customize it myself?
fun idea...
i doubt you'll do it, nothing personal
well i dont believe there is any company making a different sized connecting rod, you can destroke it with the gm parts but not over stroke it, at this point only way of increasing displacement is increasing the piston bore, while your at it you could up teh compression also to like 10:5

i dont want to destroke. I think that would loose torque and being an auto, i need more torque. I was thinking maybe parts from the 2.4 ecotec can be swapped to stroke it. I dont know if they are using similar parts, but i will definitly look into it.
About the compression, i will boost it in the future, hopefully, so it will need to be dropped. In general, will a stroker with lower compression be a bad idea? Or does it not matter
check out www.jbperformance.com they have everything for cavi's.
they dont make a stroker kit. They have a lot of stuff, but not everything...
all the lower end parts from the 2.4 eco will be interchangeable with the 2.2 eco as well as the 2.0, once they are available. but keep in mind that the 2.2 eco already is an undersquare motor. the 2.4 eco will be a real slow revver. as the bore for all 3 motors are the same just the stroke changes.
Don't steal, the government doesn't like competition
you should be able to order the crank from the 2.4
but that wont give you the same power cuz the 2.4 will have vvt
