You don't splice it into the wire on the sensor, you splice it on the wire after the clip that goes to the sensor (not on the sensor side, the ecu side). The purple wire.

the gauge should include a splicing clip, clip should be red. i know mine is red. just use the instructions.

Basically yes, but there are more points to be lean than WOT, and an A/F gauge really isn't the most accurate way to tell where you are lean and where you are rich.

I hope I dont get flamed too bad for this... whats WOT? And while we're kinda on the subject, whats N/A? I know what N/A is, non-boosted, but does it officially stand for anything?

N/A = Naturally Aspirated

WOT = Wide Open Throttle

the a/f guage is really on good to keep a constant eye on WOT a/f ratio. DO NOT USE IT TO TUNE YOUR CAR. Its more so just a small glimpse of how the car is running.

N/A for anyone who doesn't know what aspiration is.

Turbo and SuperChargers are forced aspiration, they force air into the engine, NA means that the only reason air goes in is by being sucked in by the fires need for oxygen as a fuel.

The air gets sucked in by the vacuum the piston creates as it travels down. The "fire" doesn't suck in air, it expands as it burns (all the valves are closed), pushing the piston down.

so, how would i go about tuning my car for rich/lean. and also how can i really know what it's doin? cause the air/fuel gauge just dances around and is not a really good way to tune.
any help?

Buy a wideband, or get it on the dyno.

you dont buy guages really to tune a car.... some help like shifted pointed out with the wideband..

guages let you know that everything is ok, and when something goes wrong. so you can monitor things as you are driving.
