how much horsepowerdo u get from this swap ? how much faster does it go

1000 hp and you can do 200mph.

Seriously, nobody has dyno'd it. The LO manifold gave 10hp, but lost some torque. The HO may give some more HP, but lose a little more torque than the LO. As far as how much faster does it go... What do you mean... like how much time would you lose in the quarter? Again, nobody really has a clear cut answer, too many variables such as temp and humidity, altitude, they all affect 1/4 mile times.

It sounds mean, and really kicks in in the high RPM band, with and auto and poor track conditions, bad tires, and blown struts I ran a 10.4 in the 1/8th. granted I have more than just the HO mani and TB . I would say do it, if you have any questions hit up my email.

I am the one who dyno'd the LO intake. I just located a HO mani, but its being mated to an 086 head and with HO exhaust. So I am not going through the trouble of port matching the intake to the 2.4 head just to turn around and put the manifold on the HO head when I put it on the engine and have problems because of the wall that will create restriction. The HO has fatter runners with a fatter and fuller designed plenum. Longer runners are supposed to give more torque but I wont know what numbers will be produced from the HO mani on the 2.4 I will post Dyno Numbers when I get this swap done. With heavy duty fuel pump, polished head and intake, HO injectors running at 45 PSI and secret cams, I am hoping to see in the neighborhood of 200 at the crank, 175 at the wheels.

If you have an auto, then i dont think the swap is worth is, you most likly cant get the car into the upper rpms where the manifold makes the gains.

Although i have been thinking about dynoing the manifold swap, i even called a few places to get prices on dyno time, and it looks like all the places would charge me $70 bucks for one run, but the problem is they said i would have to pay for two runs, so the total would be $140 to test this out. At one point i even posted asking for donations of a few bucks here and there from member to help with the cost, but i got flamed for that idea.

hehe.... I remember that.... people were more concerned with themselves and their modifications.... thats why I went and dyno'd it. I used to work at a place that has a dyno, so I get free dyno runs.....

i just did the 2.3L HO mani swap today on an auto....and it is DEFINATELY worth it... the car revs higher into the higher rpms so you can def hit the high rpms in an auto...and i can really notice a difference

i guess i shouldnt say its not worth it, but i dont think the autos get to use the ful potential of the manifold thats all.

do you have to port head and the manifold to get any gains or just the maifold?

word.

well, you have to make the manifold match the ports on the head. To do this you have to make the top part match up to the b-shape of the head, and the bottom has to have a step on the manifold otherwise it doesnt line up with the head and the air runs into the side of the motor.

OR

you can buy a flange that will do this all for you, there is someone working on getting a few made, the thread is in the section just look for it.

so you didn't do any porting and still noticed gains?

i used a flange. so it didnt matter, but i have never heard anyone say the sides need to be inlarged, nor do i think from my experience that you have to. If you were to inlarge the ports on the mainfolds sides then the ports would be to big.
