i have a 4door cavalier.& it has a 2.2L engine.i was looking to put a2.4 or a ecotec engine in. but the thought of converting into a rear wheel drive car came to me and just putting a small block in. im so confused on what engine i want to go with.My plans are to make it a fast car now and later maybe a show car. im slowly working on it and now im stuck. what do you think i should do? and do any of you guys know a good web site to buy aftermarket parts at. thanks

making it rear wheel drive is not worth it. it costs too much money, takes too much time. lots of people have tired it, very few have actually done it.

and if you want performance parts for your engine, go read the FAQ at the top of this forum that says READ BEFORE POSTING. it has lots of info and links

if you get a complete tube frame, front and rear end, you can do it. the cost th whole deal would be comparable to buying a new car (8 - 15 grand, depending on engine), unless you have a tig and a lot of time, i wouldn't try it.

who needs a tig, jb weld and some duct tape and you are good. and don't weigh it down with heavy metal tubing, just go with pvc.

Funny you should say that I was helping my husband and his friend fix the front end of another car. Another by stander said "You should be able to hold the bumper up in that one spot with super glue and a clamp." I thought he was joking but he was dead serious and even offered to go get some glue. Sorry to get off topic but to speak about the topic. I was really thinking of selling my 2.2 and taking the money to get a Z24.

i'd think twice about the z, it's a damn nice car, but the ecotec has much more potential and aftermarket support, like said, the z's are sweet but insurance on them sucks.
