aftermarket = better. try the AEM CAI.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
aftermarket =more money wich i dont relly have plus aem = 300$
also can you move this to the performance froum please! not supposed to be in here lol
eeasy fix, if you decide to indulge.
look at the way the stock plastic pipe runs, buy aluminum pipe from vibrant or any place that makes pipe for making intakes, 2-3 couplers, make your own intake for less than any you will buy....
same exact performance from it, less money. all it really is, is a pipe and a filter. nothing more.
Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but here you go... in all it's bare-bones stocky flavor:
The EASIEST way to get gains from your stock intake is by using a dremel. First, remove the lower section of the intake (including the bong). Take the dremel and cut the lower section of the intake around the filter so that there is just enough to hold the filter to the upper section. That will change the sound of the engine dramatically and that will be the best gain for the least amount of work...
i built a custom intake using intercooler piping and a K+N cone filter, pretty decent gains on my 04-fire
I dont have the stock filter box, my car came with nothing at all so i installed a cone filter on some dryer flexible hose (i know it sucks)

instead of drilling holes, easiest thing to do would simply be to add a cone filter. a decent one isnt exactly expensive these days
takes less time as well.
aem eco intake = around 200
if your looking at 300 you aint lookin in the right spots
If you know anyone who has an eco and got an intake you may be able to take their stock box (just the part that bolts on to the TB) then get a small cone $20 bucks at pep boys if that, and attach it to the box (it's an oval to circle attachment so you may need to use a little heat to help it fit, you need a perfect seal) then drill a hole for you sensor and you got yourself a $20 or less intake that sounds nice and helps you out. It's especially nice if it's just something fo you to do temporarily.
I think ill try the last suggestion, it may work pretty well
also I have a 2.2 (dont think aem makes a cai for those) but an aem cai for a 2.4 cavy is around 300$ (canadian)
With the AEM cold Air!
I this this Intake!
New Picture comming this summer.
