If raising your compression helps you performance wise....and when the car carbons up.....how come that increase in compression dont help you performance wise??
carbon causes restricted airflow. You gotta think, that carbon thats in your cylinder head is also in your exhaust and intake manifolds. Thats a restriction in air, so it causes loss in power on that side. plus, the carbon is very thin and it bonds into the metal... so its not raising your CR but by .04 at the most.......

if you have carbon in you intake mani then you have issues...

EGR valve is Exhuast Gas Recirculation.... what do exhaust gasses contain? BINGO.... CARBON....

thats true but thats like close to nothing...

I would almot bet proof positive that if you pulled off your intake manifold.... you would see noticable amounts of carbon. I have pulled 4 2.4's apart... all have lots of carbon buildup in the exhaust.

maybe...
umm a little off topic but uhh.. your sig is almost 300k too big

The carbon doesn't really raise the compression. It creates little glowing hot spots that causes pre-ignition. That mimics the detonation caused by high compression
