Hi, I'd just like to start off that I did and extensive search, and although it did answer most of my questions, I still have a few.
I'm contemplating ordering a 4-2-1 OBX Header for a 95-97 2.2L and can't seem to find the diameter of the runners, and downpipe. Anyone happen to know what it is?
Also, what size is the inlet/outlet ports on the stock cat? Is a new cat necessary?
Thanks

My 2.4 downpipe is 2.25". That doesn't really help but I would assume the two downpipes are the same size.
Stock exhaust is 1 7/8". It's retarded to do a header without doing your entire exhaust system. You need to have everything at the same size to see gains from it.

I do have a 2.25" catback. Just wondering what size the ports on the cat are.

no new cat needed will work directly with old one. I installed mine myself about 2 years ago and still is fine.

You're missing the point. The stock cat has a 1 7/8" inlet and outlet on it. If you keep that thing on there, you are causing a restriction to the entire exhaust system. Doing so will allow you to have very minimal if any gain from a header.
You NEED a full exhaust if you want to take advantage of a header. This includes a bigger catalytic convertor or none what-so-ever.

The obx header has a 2.5" collector down to the cat. It has very poor fitment (mine rubbed in two places) and I would not reccomend it.

mine was just fine. 2.5" collector. my advice would be to get a car-sound high flow cat from magnaflow. i believe the part number is 53005

Wait...so the 2.2L header is 2.5" downpipe, and the 2.4L header is 2.25"??
??

i know it seemed really odd but i measured my b pipe (downpipe is for turbo cars, just an fyi). the inner diameter is in fact 2.5" for my 2.2 4-2-1 obx header.

I just measured mine on friday. Definitely 2.25 and it's hooked up to a 2.25" inlet on a resonator. Very odd that the 2.2's is bigger.

I have a 2002 2.2 OHV, and my down pipe is 1.5" diameter, stock.
I don't want a 2.5" downpipe.
Any other suggestions?

Why does it matter? If that's too big for you, go to you local auto supply shop and buy a 2.5 to 2.25 reducer for $2.00.
