How do I remove the bolt that is also attached to the windsheld washer fluid reservoir???.....I dont want to break any thing....do I have to remove my whole intake....because it is almost impossible to remove the bolt from underneath the car.....Thanks
use a socket wrench, as your loosening it, pull a little on the reservoir. it will come right out.
how did u get past the metal bracket ...there is no room....did you bend it??
This is a bit off topic, but how does this help performance, unless your intake was sealed to it, I can't see it constricting anything. Or is it more of a weight reduction.

it smooths out airflow, on the stock intake the air enters a tube, turns 90 degrees, goes down a tube, into an airbox, up a tube, back down, up into the air filter, into the s tube, then into the airbox on the tb, then into the tb..................if you remove the bong it goes up a hole, into the air filter, into the s tube, in the airbox on the tb, then into the tb. less travel, less restriction

metal bracket? your not talking about the battery tray are you?
how are you getting to the bong?
I hope it is through the fender well from the outside. remove tire, remove or loosen the fender liner shroud. plastic piece under the bumper. pop the plastic retainers on the top front center of the plastic bumper. should be two bolts under the corner where the fender and bumper meet.you can then swing the bumper out of the way without removing it entirely. then the bong should be very exposed. I know it sounds like a lot but you can have the bong out in like 20-30 taking it all apart and back together again.
anyone with an 03+ know if theres all that much different from the 95-2002 ?
there may be more screws in there so look for them as you do it.

it will allow air to come in the front air dam and up through the hole that is left exposed buy removing the bong. the bong is nothing more than a way to get flow into the air-box. if you have seen this thing you know it constricts the air flow. you will however need to clean your filter well now that more road dust and dirt can get up in there.
Well, i took off the fender liner and removed the 2 bolts in the wheel well....I tried pulling, but no luck....there was something restricting it from coming out...so, I searched for more bolts...and found a bolt that connect the bong to the washer fluid reservoir....located more towards the front of the car, not accessible from the wheel well...only from underneath the car....this is the only thing that is keeping it from coming out......it's not really bracket...it's part of my frame, I think....has anyone else had this problem or am I just oblivious....thanks
haha.....I finally got to the last bolt and the bong is finally gone...So in other words, I kicked the habit...thanks for everybodies input.......That thing is serious ridiclous.(now I know why they call it a Bong)...........WTF was chevy thinking..
lol, "just say no", was not what they were thinking
