Hey can anyone help? I have a 05 Sunfire 5 speed with the ecotec, i want to do an intire exhaust system but ive been told jsut to do a cat back and not mess with the cat or the 3, yes three, 02 sensors.....anyone out there do a header highflow cat then a catback? because that is what i would like to do. Also im not sure what to use, ive been told Pacesetter header, and Catco cat with a custom catback. The look i am going for in the rear is dual exhaust but no monster fart can exhaust (nothing against em just not for me). So any help wold be Great....thanks

thousands of people have done the entire exhaust. header, high flo cat and then the cat back. dual exhaust is just for looks. if you want performance go with a single muffler system.

But i guess my question is how do i go about that without setting off a code, i mean theres 3 sensors.....A single exhaust you say, why is that? I was thinkin one single muffler with two outlets for the dual look.

if its done right it wont throw a code. have a local exhaust shop install it for you
most people do dual exhaust they use 2 mufflers like shown here

a dual exhaust adds weight that you dont need. the weight of the extra piping and muffler.

....what 99red said. Also, it is gonna be quite a bit louder with a dual set up. I had the rk dual quad tip set up, and while I liked the novelty of the sound at first, it wore off after long drives and long periods of ringing in my ears (seriously). Go with a header, high flow cat, custom cat back exhaust, and a nice muffler. You'll probably like the sound of that. You can also think of adding a resonator between the cat and the muffler for more sound reduction.

Oh, and since I eliminated the duals, my car feels more torquey. (if thats a word.)

I have the magnaflow dual catback and the sound is a bit too loud inside the car... it's unbearable when I'm driving below 2500 RPM.

Kyle - I have a 2.4 (1999 Z24) and it's just from the cat back (original cat). Besides a short ram air intake, I have no other engine mods. It sounds nice at higher RPMs, but below 2500 it turns into a horrible low droning noise that makes my subwoofer sound like a pussy.
