Hey well i have 2.25" tubing and im looking for a stainless resonator since i get popping during shifts and going down a big hill so am i on the right track with needing a resonator? This means i do not have enough back pressure right? Ok anyways where do i find a stainless resonator and one that isnt going to restrict flow too much if at all...If someone can provide a link that would be awsome too....the system i have is magnaflow high flow cat,2.25" stainless tubing, magnaflow dual tip muffler...phil
yes you need a resonator...the bigger the resonator, the less popping...make sure you get the perforated core type of resonator so it won't restrict flow...i got the magnaflow 24" XL powerpack for my exhaust...part number 14462.
Magnaflow recently dicontinued the powerpacks and magnapacks. I would just get one of their 4" round mufflers and use that as a resonator if you really want stainless steel.
local shops still carry em. check their site, find a dealer and or local distributor by using your zip code.
I have a few magnaflows left in stock. Mangnaflow isnt all stainless. I also sell Vibrant and they carry a stainless version.

I use a vibrant 18" stainless resonator made the car sound alot better and got rid of the sound of the bees flying out of my exhaust and quieted it down too.

backpressure is bad. you dont need or want any. i hear the stainless vibrant resonators work pretty well...i would check out those. maybe 2 depending on what kind of sound you want.

I personally kinda like the popping sound, but Im used to driving Hondas and DSMs with really loud popping sounds. After a while, you get used to it. But the Magnaflow is a good res and should be cheap at a muffler shop near you.............
I'll have a sig someday....................
i was looking at the vibrant resonators and they look like what i want ..now what kind of core do they have?is it louvered or perforated core? Also if someone sells these what am i looking at for cost???phil
Cherry bombs , and Purple Hornies work great too.
( i know from experience
)
I have been looking for a resonator as well. I just recieved an e-mail back from vibrant say that they are "straight through, perforated internal core"
I have had a Magnapack resonator on order for almost 4 weeks now and they still do not have an eta when it will arrive. I have also called around to some other shops in the area and they all have at least a 3 week wait on one.
I think I am going to order the vibrant resonator tonight and cancel the magnaflow one.
