Never buy an expansion module or multiple scan tools. Just one! The Nology PDA-Dyno™.

Free Tech Support Forever!

NOLOGY DOES NOT SUPPORT STREET RACING. OBEY ALL TRAFFIC LAWS. Info
If you want to know the horsepower and torque of your engine, or the 0 to 60 time of your car, or even the 1/8 mile or 1/4 mile time and speed, just use the Nology PDA-Dyno™.

Use it to check and clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC), or to turn off the "Check Engine" light. -- Yes, the one that came on right after you did all those cool engine mod's. Perfect for when you have to get the car smogged.

Use it to monitor and record sensor values. --Lets say you want to upgrade your engine and you would like to know if that new trick air cleaner really gives you more power --- Do a baseline run and record the airflow data. Now install the new air cleaner and make another run (damn this is hard work). Now compare the air flow data. More air flow, more horsepower. Get it?

The PDA-Dyno™ turns your PDA into a Data Logger.--
Record several 1/4 mile runs and compare them later.

The PDA-Dyno™ turns your PDA into a Data Acquisition System.--
All OBD II supplied data can be recorded and stored.
Record all data during a road-race, or record your cars gas mileage (mpg) for a specific trip.-- A standard 8 MB PDA can hold hours of driving data (depending on free memory space). An affordable Data Logger.

The PDA-Dyno™ can also be used as an OBD II scan tool and supports all Generic OBD II Data such as: SAE J1850 (VPW, PWM); ISO 9141-2 (ISO); ISO 14230 (KWP 2000) and EU-OBD II.

Do all this and more, by simply connecting your own PDA (Palm, Handspring Visor, Sony Clié) to the cars OBD II connector under the dash using the supplied OBD II compliant cable (supports cars 1996 and newer).

I've seen one of those before....i used it on my neon, it seemed to be fairly accurate....it works better if you know your gear ratios

but it'd be nice if the dyno feature worked acurately, because you could use this, and then tune it with something else, then do it again, to see if power went up or down.... I dunno. maybe its bs crap. i dun see how it can measure the rotating mass of the wheels to calculate hp. A dynomometer knows what the rotating mass, etc is of the drum so it can calculate hp, and torque accurately. Anyone know how accurate this stuff is? I plan to make my car so i never have to go to a dyno to tune it (a/f wise, since i can data log everything). I'd only need to go to a dyno if i wanted to know what i was making in terms of power at the wheels. Thats the way i'm planning it anyways.

Auterra system have exactly the same features for much less money. Compare it and you will see that both systems are the same.

Also you can find it in Ebay cheaper too.

Accuracy?

A dynamometer works by measuring how fast you get a specific wieght of drums spinning. It knows it takes X ft-lbs of torque per second to get them to spin Y speed. From that it can calculate torque. HP is simply a function of torque (ever wonder why HP and TQ graphs always cross at 5252 RPMs?).

So, you can accurately reproduce that in the real world using the speed of the car, and knowing the exact wieght at the time of the run, you can create an accurate dyno graph against RPM. The biggest thing is keeping the wheel spin down and knowing the wieght of the car. After that its all mathematics.
