another TB question but this one is dif. I promise

I have 2 Tb's right now.

1 is a 52mm from a 99 2200.
the other is a 56mm from a 2.3 quad 4

how in the world do the butterfly plates come out. I tried everything. I have no idea how to do.

The reason I need to do this is because I want to use the butterfly from the 2.3l so I can get the 2200 bored out to 56mm.

any ideas??

the 2.3 tb i don't think will work.

i test fitted in on the IM and there is a gap and only has 3 mounting holes instead of 4.

and Roy i can't seem to get the stupid bolts out of either I tried for hours. lots of wd40 used..
It might be because i am using a dumbing screwdriver type torx wrench. I might have to buy a socket set torx wrench.

I just took the plate out of the one i got from the junkyard... the two screws will come out.. they're a torx bit.. i don't know what else to tell you.. but the plate will only come out one way.. there's two "bumps" on one side that don't allow it to drop through a certain way. i'm guessing they'll be on the side that's on top when at wot.
so once you take the two screws out... turn it to wot and pull up.
