just because they havent done it doesnt mean it cant be done. rodimus prime did it, he just didnt replace the coils and plug wires.

All i am saying is What the manufacturer told me. Are you sure he got it working???? I am sure you can replace the coils and put wires on it. Nology does with there kit and they are using a stock ignition modual. MSD told me that the stock ignition driver wont understand there signal from there box. Thats what i was told.

the stock ignition driver doesnt need to "understand" anything from msds system. the channel outputs from the msd ignition system go straight to the coils. theres no signal the dis-2 unit sends back to the ICU.

Looks like you have everything you'll need on that list.

Should work out fairly well. To simplify things, get a ICM connector from GM that will plug into the bottom of your ICM. That way you can pin it and making the wiring a little easier/cleaner.

the msd dis-2 will work on the ecotec motor.

yes you will need all of the above, you can do with out the sycn generator, but it might be easier just to you use it. I am not using it, and i have had the swap done for about a month or two.

so whats the install time on all of the above parts for the ecotec

The plug is there, its either on the coil pack or the ICM, its the part thats sticking out, just pull on it, it has the Holes, i think it has the pink weather stripping stuff on it as well.

what i did was slide the cables into the slots and solder them so they wouldnt come out. havent had any problems.

as for install time, it may vary. if you know what you are doing, it can take up to 20 minutes. I cant really tell you for sure since, i had the MSD stuff mounted already from my 2.4, all i had to do was solder and connect to the ICM.

I hope it does work as i want a retard for my No2, I wrote to their forum and was told that it wont work--so i then call tech and talked to them. I wasnt willing to buy all the parts and take a chance. IF IT WORKS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!

thats the reason im getting it actually... i have nitrous now and im going for turbo over the summer. ill take some pics of the install and eventually write up a whole thing on it. based on my wiring diagrams of the engine and the system, it doesnt look that bad though.
