needed performance

okay i have a 97 2.2 and im sick of how slow it is...i need some ways to make it fast and some suggestions on doin it....im on a budget but if it gets my car goin fast then ill do it....could u please list some ways to make my car faster and maybe some cheap ways to get some horses. thank u

Well, one big thing working against you is having a 2.2 auto. it's not going to be fast---best you may get is 16s at the track (maybe). You have an intake, next you should think about exhaust (including a header and maybe high flow cat). Crank pulley, motor mounts, try some plug wires too. it's tough to get power out of an auto 2.2 without major work or nitrous (i used to own one).

weight reduction! strip everything you can out of the car. nitro is a cheap initial solution but it has required maintenance as you have to refill the bottle which can be tough depending on the availability of nitro in the area. most bolt-ons are cheap but you get what you pay for. engine mounts are only 65 bucks but they give no real gains, intake is fairly cheap but again no noticeable gains. if you want "fast" you'll have to dump quite a bit of cash into the car.
