On the earlier 2.2L's (97 earlier) GM used a 1.5 rocker arms with a camshaft lift of .432 . When GM changed the 2.2 to the 2200 in 98, they started using a 1.6:1 ratio roller rocker arms with a camshaft lift of .420. To keep the valve lift the same they lessened the lobe lift on the cam. So in theory by doing the swap you will get a cam and rocker combination of .460 inch valve lift, instead of stock .420 lift.
What kinds of gains would this make on my car?
