a little while back i bought new injectors with i think 24 lb flow rate. just a few questions about them. i bought them from jc whitney they were accel. i went to put them in and they went in no problem, but then when i went to plug the wires back into them the wires were too big and wouldn't fit. is there a connector i could find or do you think i was just sent the wrong injectors? also what's the stock flow rate for injectors?
Shifted wrote:Stock is 19lb/hr, yes, you'll need to find clips for them. I think they use the same clips as the 95-99 cavs/sunfires do, so you might be able to get a set of clips off of one of those vehicles.
for a 2.2 ohv they are 19lbs/hr? or is that maxed?
is that the newer ones or the older ones? the ones for mine are 17lb/hr. when i got the injectors back from rceng they were 179-182cc/min after cleaning

from this calc
http://witchhunter.com/injectorcalc1.htm it says my max injector of 182 is only 17.33cc/min.
just checking cause i was gonna buy new ones sooner or later. thanx man

so should i just go junkyard rummaging? i had no idea when i bought them i'd have to find clips for em. hopefully the old ones will work. i didn' think that there was too much of a difference between the 2200 and the 2.2. but apparently i'm worng.
2200 was still around in 98-99, so even though 95-99 connectors are needed, 2 of those years the 2200 was in the car.
if you need those connectors 98-99 style, i do have spares.

Delco lists the injector as 19lb/hr, RC flow tests thier injectors at a lower PSI than GM does (GM does this so they can get higher flow rates from smaller injectors). Obviously flow rate depends greatly on fuel pressure. I believe GM tests around 50 PSI, while RC (and the rest of the industry) tests at 43 PSI. To turn lbs/hr into cc/min, simply multiply by 10.5. cc/min to lb/hr you just divide by 10.5. There is a ton of injector calculations in the top boost FAQ if you want to run through some numbers.

Take an injector with you and go rummaging. If it is a square injector clip that is about 1/2" wide by 1/4" tall, the ford injector clips will work.

Buy stuff from CarCustoms Ebay! Won't be disappointed!
so its 10.5 now? or is that with the 50psi test rating. one site i was reading sported 10.2 as the control number to multiply or divide by.
i'll check em out though. thanx brah
