ok ever since i did the lo swap on my car ive been having problems with idle-ling. first of all what is the right idle that it should be at cause mine is like at 1100 at idle is that too high? plus i turn on the car and as soon as i floor it a little and let go the rpms start jumping up and down and sometimes it dies and others it just jumps up and down till it fixes itself. that right there is a big issue because at stop sings it sounds like im reving to everyone. i cant even turn on my a/c at idle because my car usually shuts off. another my car is running too rich. i took out my plugs yesterday and they are completely black plus you can smell the gas off the exhaust. now ive changed out my tps, iac, ive checked for leaks anything getting stuck, changed gaskets, my plugs, changed out my coils, the boots and springs looked ok, but ive gone through all that and no nothing has changed. i even took it to autozone to give the egine codes and this is what i got:
po108 map high input
po113 iat
po401 egr not enough flow (because i cancelled it out)
po300 misfire
another is when im on the freeway and going about 60 or any high speed when i press on the clutch or put it in neutral my car's rev doesnt go down till after like 6 or 7 seconds. it will stay at about 2500 rpms. sometimes it seem like its floored and with out me touching the gas pedal. another is when i floor it quickly and chokes out. hope im making sense but i need the help asap. now the only reason why i havent changed out the map is because it is working because as soon as i unplug it my car shuts off completely but do you think it my be sending a wrong signal or something. so please let me know tell me the steps on the swap maybe i did something wrong. i did follow the steps from ny-jbodies or if i can get a diagram of the vacuum lines or something someone please give some hope and let me know what to try.
thanks you
hey thanks everybody for the help. right back to you guys.
You must be new here. Your sarcasm won't get you far, and normally everyone would tell you to search. I would assume when you said lo swap, you are talking about a manifold? There's your next problem, everyone will ask why you put an lo on when you could have done an ho for the cost of the better manifold. That shouldn't matter much though, most people think it's the TB that gives you the best gains. Good work on doing something different.
It sounds to me like you have a vacuum leak. Did you use a gasket? Did you port match the manifold (shouldn't matter in relation to vacuum, but give us an idea of how thorough a job you did)? Did you check all lines again?
You are going to get an EGR code unless you get a sim, so get used to the CEL. Did you plug the IAT sensor into an intake tube at some point? If not that IA code will stick around as well. The map code is probably due to your vacuum leak, and the same with the misfire.
Do some more tweaking and try and take care of the two sensors. We understand that you're frustrated, but being a douche bag will encourage people NOT to respond. Good luck.
