doing a throttle body bore, mess up car at all?

hey one of my friends that works at a machine shop said if i get a stock 2.4l throttle body he can bore it out to 62mm which is what the rsm throttle body is, i was wondering if its easy to take off / put on and is there any chance of messing up the ecu or anything because your changing the size of the butterfly/throttle body meaning more air would flow through it im guessing.

Won't hurt anything , The PCM would adjust the air/fuel mixture when it starts running lean .

Just make sure the new plate fits perfectly, otherwise you car will idle high or even worse, it'll search (annoying as hell). Also, he's gonna have to sleeve the tb to go that big, just as a fair warning.

Does RSM sleeve theirs? I don't recall seeing a sleeve when I put mine in, though it might not have been noticable.

The new plate is definitely a necessity though.

id say go with 59mm. the intake manifold i think is roughly 59 mm anyway. 62 is mainly for turbo or nitrous

yeah you'll suffer performance loss if you go anything bigger than 59 and are unboosted. that's just waay too big for an NA engine.

What bout a 2200 engine? How big of a bore? I have a laythe/mill at my house and school and was thinking of doing it. And how do they make the plates?
