Well after blowing a bearing through the side of my block I figure I should have an OPG for the new motor. How do I hook it up, is it electronic?

On the intake cam housing all the way to the drivers side there is a factory oil pressure sensor. You can remove that, thread in a "T" fitting then use one port on the "T" fitting for the facorty sensor and one for your aftermarket gauge. Hope that makes sense.

it depends on what kind of gauge you have
there is a spot on the back side of the block , it will measure the oil pressure sooner than at the cam tower
well, you start with the search button, then, read.
but, in case you tried searching...
get a 1/8th pipe tap extension, 3" long, a "T" with a 1/8th pipe tap, screw the extension to the tee, the other end of the extension to where you removed the origional oil sending unit from, and then screw teh both of the sending units to the tee, then do your wiring.

I agree. screw the T-fitting.

3rd that. mine is in the back of the block. no need to buy fittings. the one that comes with the kit works.

The stock Oil pressure sensor is to the right side of the IDI cover, below it. It comes out of the Intake Cam housing.

I know this is an old post but I still dont understand, I looked at all the pics 97cavi2.4LS has but I still dont know what hes talking about. So is this a wire, or an oil line?
When you guys say right or left, do you mean from sitting in the drivers seat or from looking at the enging on the outside?
There is a sensor in the middle of the cam housing, but I thought that was a cam positioning censor. I dont know of any other sensors, can someone help me out, thanks a ton

its on the drivers side of the idi cover, look rite beside ur power steering pump, u will see a sensor goin into the intake side of the cams, thats the one u want
here is 97cavie24ls' picture but labelled so you know what port is what:
if its a mechanical gauge, you would run a line from the gauge to where its marked 'OIL' on the picture.
if its electrical, you would mount the oil pressure sender somewhere in the engine bay, and run a line from 'OIL' to the sender.
OR...as the others suggested, you can mount it off the stock sensor location, which is on the drivers side of the intake cam tower. HOWEVER, this is what I originally did and the sender was too heavy, and the brass fittings cracked and oil spewed everywhere. Here's the thread:
