Hey, I was wondering on whats the best power for the money, cause I aint rich, So dont say nitrous because I dont have 500-800 to spend on it. What are easy, cheap things to do that will give you a little more power. I know going fast is expensive lol, but is there any cheap mods for the 2.2 non eco that will give you a few more horseys? (97 sunfire)

nope nothing is cheap, if ya wanna go fast or add more Hp it cost alot of money

you could always get a cheap intake and exhaust of ebay for about 300 between the 2 but you will only get like 5hp and thats not worth it imho

i say save up

anything that you take out of your car. spare tire and jack, front and rear passenger seats, the sun visors in your car, all it takes is a screw driver or wrench

Phil your driving an auto 2.2, those tranys are crap. You will make more noise than hp if anything. You will need to spend alot to go fast in your 97.

-agreed

2004 eco base 5-speed: $100/mo or $8500 cash
Short Shifter $15 (shift handle)
Ebay glass pack: $15+S&H, exhaust tip $15+S&H
Custom Bent Exhaust - $75-100
Weight Reduction $free
Custom Intake manifold $50 supplies + time + welding class ($200)
LS1 TB $50+S&H
Ebay Honda Civic WAI $30+S&H
Pacesetter Black Painted Header - $150
Weight Reduction $free
Motor mounts
Underive Pulley - $100

With those mods you should get into the low 15's. Or you could just buy a car thats already fast i.e. 96 3000GT SL...222hp V6 3600lbs for about $6000, you get the idea.
