Quiet Down Exhaust With Least Loss In Power????
Wednesday, April 20, 2005 4:52 PM
As of now I have an OBX Header, 2.5 inch high flow cat, Moroso resonator, 2.5 inch pipes and a 2.5 inch muffler. It is loud as hell and really not enjoyable or practical. what would be the best way to quiet it down? Should I downgrade to 2.25 inch piping? Also I dont want to kill performance, whats the best thing to do?

I have a CLA Dual tip muffler, and the resonator I think is 18 inches, or 14. It is called the turbothrust I think.

Use the biggest resonator you can find, that fits. Also, in most cases quality name brand mufflers and resonators do a much better job on sound supression than the cheap e bay crap.

The best muffler of all is a turbo.

Everything is brand named, except the muffler which I got at Carlsle Custom Compact Nationals and sounds awesome but is LOUD. What is a QUIET Muffler for my car and where to buy it?

Yean I use a vibrant 18" stainless pereforrated(spelling) core resonator it quited down my exhaust alot but still could be quieter with a none straight through muffler.

I'm using a 19" magnaflow resonator, and a borla crossflow muffler, it's silent when cruising inside the car, but has a nice, pretty loud sound when you tromp on it.

15.3 @ 89.97mph, 14's on the way?

I got the header put on, ran it header open to the muffler shop and got the 2.5 inch pipes so I dont know.

So its between the borla crossflow muffler, or, Dynomax Super Turbo. Which is quieter and where to buy, Jegs?
