Well I'm looking into getting a new muffler and I just wanted to know what the stock size, inlet/outlet is on a 98 Z24.
I looked in the FAQ and I didn't see anything about size...
Thanks...
1.75 small as hell lol you will need adapters if you want to put on an aftermarket one

Are you just looking to replace your stock one, are are you looking at going aftermarket?

going aftermarket...
looking at flowmaster 60 series...
which one of the 4 at the top would be best for my car...
I looked at mine now and it has the inlet on the right ( if you are looking behind the car ) and the outlet in the center. They don't have them like that though...
So what would be best to go with, what size and such?
You could buy pretty much any muffler and take it to a shop and have them fab up a cat-back for you... it will be a lot louder if you don't use resonators.. not sure what sound you're looking for

look into the dynomax super turbo muffler--it's affordable and not loud--nice deep quiet tone. as for what size---doesn't matter, if you take it to a shop to have it installed, they can put any size on---but I wouldn't go any bigger than 2.25" inlet/outlet on stock pipe.
does the dynomax sound like the flowmaster?
cause that is a crapload cheaper...
This is coming from the 4 legit exhaust shop in my area. The more CFM spiting out the louder it will sound. Which is why strait through are ususally the loudest mufflers. You can adjust the tone through a resonator.
As for stock size on my GT it is 2-inches on one muffler and 1.75 on other.

you got the right idea with the flowmaster 60 series. it might be my next muffler when i do my cat back but i like the super 40 also.
see ya!
have you ever heard one on a 2.4? On the site it has a sound clip from an 1.8L vtec...
I just wonder if it will sound similar...
