Well all I know is that I am going to paint the engine all nice and shiny but what should I add to it? I was thinking pulleys but which ones are the best. I plan on making my exhasust quieter by doin 2.25 and a quiet muffler so I am cutting some performance there. what other bolt ons should I do? and where is the best place to buy?

if your motor is going to be out, do your block, like bore it and new pistons and connecting rods. I kinda wish my motor was out. I've got some crazy plans.
probably a good time to change the clutch if you need one or get a higher stall tq. converter (auto. trans) if you want one.
CAR GODS MADE THE 1.6 SOHC TO MAKE US 2.2 OHV GUYS FEEL BETTER.
new expansion plugs. sh@t just have to whole thing gone over.

i've heard good things about the rsm pullies, and the unorthodox racing crank & AEM alternator pullies.
so basically it's up to you really. you could also get an HO pully, but it's kinda heavier. i think rsm has the lightest pullies.
as for the engine being out of the car, i say go all out on it. pistons, rods, etc. mind as well. just my $.02
if you plan on not doing boost bump the compression up
ive got the 2.3HO pullies on both of my 2.4's and have been happy with them
have the crank , rods , pistons balanced
I would say for bolt-ons, get the RS pullies. Ive been very happy with my crank pulley so far. I would at least do cams as well. Nice power gain and not a lot of headache to install yourself.
I'll have a sig someday....................
Doubt he wants to do that, but it really would be easier to turbo the car with the engine already in. That way, you don't get all your measurements messed up and everyhting will fit flush.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this...
WATER PUMP! Put a new one on, 2.4's are known for water pump failure, why not go ahead and put a new one on? it's about 50000 times easier out of the car. Also new thermostat. It's a PITA when in the car
Timing set...fairly cheap, and something much easier to do when the motor's out of the car. Also, don't forget a new tensioner.
I know you got a 5 speed...so might as well put a new clutch in, and resurface the flywheel.
that's all going to combine to a good chunk of change...but the car will run another 100k if you do it right.
I have the AEM/Unorthodox combo, I got them off ebay I know you can get the AEM one off of ebay anytime and i think carcustoms has both and is a very reputable guy to deal with on here. The 2 pullies offset and use the stock belt which is a nice bonus.
