if my sunfire throws CEL when i get my header back exhaust...and i have to use an o2 sim...will i fail emissions?
Depends on a bunch of factors...
Are you using the stock cat in this new setup?
No cat?
Aftermarket cat?
If you use the simulator, there really is no way of telling if there's a problem, so you COULD technically fail. But if you're running a cat (even if it's aftermarket) you should be fine.
yeah i will have magnaflow 91035 high flow cat on there
you should be fine--I have that cat and have no codes as of yet
might fail, i had an o2 sim connected when i got my inspection, it faiiled my post cat sensor, and evap system, so i went and hooked my rear 02 back up, and it passed with no problems at all. My guess is it can fool the cars computer into not kicking on the check engine light but when a diagnostic center tries to run a check on the post ct senor it will know something isnt right

what do you recommend? since i don't want it to throw a code for having the o2 sensor there...and i don't want to fail due to o2 sim? lol put stock exhaust on before i go?
for starters, what code does it throw?
if it throws a catalytic converter inefficient code, that means you need to replace the cat. if not over time it breaks down, clogs and screws performance.
instead of using sims, which arent needed, get the right size cat (magnaflow 94035 is large enough to support any header and burn off any extra emissions) justmagnaflow.com, working o2 sensor and be done with it.
will the 91035 work sufficient or just go with the 94035?
