its a Pacesetter Single Cat-Back Exhaust, and im wondering if the piping that this comes with will attach to the stock cat on a cavalier 2.4L?
im hoping ill be able to buy this, then just bolt it on like it says, without buying a new cat.
also: will the 2.25 inch piping be ok for a 2.4L for max. power? ive heard some people say use 2.5 inch piping for natrually asperated 2.4Ls for max. power, and i have heard some others say only use 2.25 for natrually asperated 2.4Ls.
thanks for the help!
It will attach. Kinda pointless, but it will attach.
The main restriction is the small diameter from the exhaust manifold to the cat...and the cat itself has a very small diameter inlet.
But yes, it will attach.

no kidding.. why get a cat back? you still have the 1 7/8" I/D down pipe,,, onece you slow exhaust velocity down, there is no speeding it back up... so the cat back is pointless! WASTE OF MONEY start with a header, then get a high flow cat, then muffler and a res... with that money for the cat back, you can buy the pacesetter header, i would save a little more, and get the ceramic coated though....
a few reasons i want to do the catback first. firstly, i can get the monza catback exhaust for around 150$. second: my friend has access to a mechanic lift, but he only has access to it for about another 3 weeks.
so im going to install the catback while we still have the lift, then in a few weeks i will get the pacesetter header w/high flow cat. that stuff will be easier to install while the car is on the ground.
