I just bought a 2004 cavalier 2.2 ecotec and I need some help with mods. What are the easiest and most responsive things i can do. What kind of exhaust is the best, i want to lower it does anyone know which has the best ride. Basically I want the best stuff for the money, anything. Thanks
I use B&G springs 1.6 inch drop and KYB GR2 gas struts. They lower the ride really nice just perfect. And the ride is still good.
You can also get blank cams and cam gears from GM performance at any Chevy dealer. I have them my self and had them cut by Crane Cams.
Headers you could get a pacesetter there not the most expensive but the easiest to get..
RKSport offers a good true cold air intake. Its what I had when I first got my car before the S/C. I works really good goes in the fenderwell.
Exhaust I use Magnaflow. HKS has one too but its really hard to get. Magnaflow uses all stainless steel cat back and it deffinately won't rust. I know my friend I worked with had the HKS and he really liked it but they didn't use all stainless steel so it rusted out quickly. He now also has a Magnaflow singal exhuast where I have the dual exhaust from RKSport. There also not that bad price wise.
You can also get a Magnaflow highflow cat which I have on my car.
RSM Racing has a good 62mm throttle body and ported polished head which I have on my car. But I got mine with there stage II S/C kit. plus more.
RSM Racing also has a really light crank pulley which I also have. Its the lightest on the market and its OEM size so you don't have to change your belt. They also have a lower urethane engine mount as well which I also utlize.
If your looking for qucik speed with a turbo or supercharger I'd look to Hahn for the turbo and RSM Racing for a supercharger. My friend at work has the Hahn stage II turbo kit and hes got more HP than I do cause he can change his boost when he wants. I have RSM Racings stage II Supercharger kit and I'm running really good power at 10Lbs of boost. GM currently doesn't sell a supercharger kit for the 2.2 ECOtec and I don't know if they will or not. Plus it only adds between 40-60HP more and RSMs kit with a vortech blower adds between 65-85HP more on there stage I and stage II kits.
This is as much help as I can give you currently looking for mods cause I curently have all of these on my 04 ECO. Hope it helps ya.
