I've always heard that the AEM intakes for Cavy eco's were supposed to come with the clutch mounting thingie.. but mine never did. Does it actually come with it and I got gypped or what? Oh and how do I go about getting one from AEM, I've never been able to find it on the website.

I did mine today and had the same problem... if you zip tie it,, does it have to be level?, or does it not matter?
And also, i had to take some valve sensor or something out of the stock intake.. what do i do with it now? and what are the hoses for?
I have a 2000 2.2L

I would seriously call whatever company you got the intake from and ask why you didn't get instructions, because it's obvious you don't have any.

The sensor you pulled out of the stock intake is your air intake temperature (AIT) sensor. There SHOULD be a hole in the new intake, as well as a grommet for it. As for the hoses, how many do you have? (Better yet, what year/model do you have?). On my CAI for my 03 Cavy, there was one hose that goes from the intake pipe to the manifold, replacing the original hose that went from the intake duct to the manifold.

well i did get instructions but they seemed very general and didnt help at all. Its a bomz racing short ram intake, and i have a 2000 2.2L(non-ecotec). The only thing that was connected to the stock intake was that sensor, and there was a clip holding 2 wires that went around it, but thats not important. my intake has 2 little tube holes sticking out and the 2 hoses fit them. The sensor fits the hose but doesnt stay secure. And it seems wierd to me that the sensor would have so much distance from the new intake, when it used to be right inside the stock intake. Should i just custom fit the sensor with one of the hoses and seal off the other hole?

wow, that's weird. Are you sure they sent you the right intake? I mean, short/long intakes are basically just replacements of your stock intake system.. everything that you unplug/disconnect from the stock, you should be able to put back onto the new one (or be given some alternative method).

Call the company you got the intake from or the manufacturer of it and see if they've got someone that can help you out, cuz it sounds to me like they might've given you the wrong one. Could you possibly post any pictures of the new intake system with the tubes and hoses and such?

all of the intakes on ebay had the same hardware and i got exactly what was in that pic. One intake i saw yesterday showed a small hose clamp with it in the picture.

I could have one of those made for less than that, or make it myself for free. looks like a piece of aluminum turned to a fancy shape tapped and two end pieces made to thread into the holes.

I had my resivor zip tied to the brake lines. But it leaked once and that was enough for me.

I have one too!

I have a hole and a grommet in my new intake for the AIT, but the hole is round and the AIT sensor is oval with a plastic clip attached. Should I break off the clip and just shove the AIT sensor in the whole, b/c it doesn't fit otherwise.

I dunno.. but I wouldn't go breaking anything off unless you're sure it wont screw anything up.

choice one: swallow pride and take it to a shop to have done
2: go to the ebay sellers feedback, look for another jbody owner that bought one, email them and ask what they did

I just got my Bomz short ram intake today. Didnt fit very well and, there is just one hole in the tube and no grommet or anything ( no rubber hoses ) so the sensor doesnt fit in the hole. I gotta go to the hardware store and can hopefully find something that will fit, did anyone have the same problem with theirs?
