help with pacesetter header
Monday, April 11, 2005 10:37 AM
Alright thanks first off for reading my problems and trying to help me

I jsut got my black pained pacesetter header in and brought it in to shop class. yes i sanded it down and did it with high temp paint. So my first question is. Am i going to need to get a new o2 sensor or will the old one work. I cant seem to get the bolts where te manifold and exhaust meet. I cant seem to get them to budge. Should i heat it up or use like wd40 or something? When i put the pacesetter in place will I have to move my cat or will everything hook up correctly
One more thing. Will i be able to tell a diff in my car. I have Exhaust, intake, soon to be header, bigger tb

Thanks, alot

Brandon

you can use the same o2.

I had the same problem with the bolts, i tried everything and nothing worked, so i cut the downpipe with a dremel. I then went to an exhaust shop to get a new downpipe welded on.

You will notice a pretty good gain for what you paid, since you already have a cat-back, you will feel a nice improvement.

wd40 , pb rustbuster

and try running the car and let it cool enough so that you can get in there and try and loosen them

alright thanks alot guys..

I will try that stuff tommorow at school.. My teacher said once we get the o2 sensor out we will just heat the bolts up and it should come right off.. also does the downpipe go all the way to the cat? or do i have to cut the pipe at a certain spot before the cat?

you have to cut it in a certain spot before the cat

so cut it long then once the header and down pipe is installed itll give you a better idea where it needs to be cut at

the header comes with instructions...

you have to cut it a couple in before the hanger.
