Your best bang for the buck.

Not a search type of question, because it's not really a question. I just want a quick little post about a part (not necesarily a performance part, just thought there will prblably be more performance) that you bought that in YOUR opinion was a real well worth it upgrade. And what did it really help and any advice for the next guy type of thing... Thanks

^--agreed
the strut bars are awesome for sharp turns and just everyday driving on windy roads, but if you have the money get nitrous

performance in a straight line NO2

other wise I would say a rear sway bar to complement the one you have in the front. you won;t think its the same car. and its legal on the street.

Personaly i think that strut bars and motor mount are a quite good investement. But the for the bigbang... i would nitrous too. Around here a full kit, professionaly installed with a full bottle is about 1600CAD( with our 15% taxes , i live in Quebec ). if you install it and/or buy a used kit you could have it A LOT cheaper than that.

...all of the above...also, as for bang for the buck, gotta say my custom 2.25 side exit exhaust. Spent less than 50 bucks on piping and had my friend help me weld it. Not only did I gain a couple of horses, but sounds nice too. As for the handling side, gotta agree with the 2 tower braces and the subframe. Got that combo after I got my kybs all around, h & r springs, and pirelli tires...betcha I got the best handlin j-body in town.

...don't hate!.. respect people that have talent, even if it is in something you don't like or understand.

newbie here.....anyone ever see those electric superchargers? The one ive been looking at hit the wallet at about $120 and it is ADVERTISED to kick out 2-5psi, even more with nice intake and filter. They say it draws about 7 amps ( like a hoover ) so it wont kill the alternator. 5 psi should give a substantial increase in hp.....maybe like 20 or 25??? maybe not, maybe more who knows. Anyway jst bought 05 sunfire has 1000 mi and looking to start small and get bigger towards the end of the warranty. Ive successfully built many American pushrod V8's that have ran reliable 12's and 13's in street cars. I have good knowledge about engine building, but still am clueless about this twin cam four cylinder stuff.....any help would be nice....thanx

If YOU have actually built an engine you'd already know the answer to that question.

yeah it most likely will make you loose power vs gain power. The fan will not spin fast enough to force air in your motor, it will actually act more like an obstruction blocking the path of the air

Dude, wha do you mean "If i had actaull built and engine id know the answer to that." Ive put together some lethal street combo's that would rock your 205 whp world in a straight line. Probably with half the money too. Im just not with the time on OEM EFI performance yet. Just to clue you in on that i reaaly do fave a clue as to engine building, here is the combo that i run in my 72 chevelle.

Gen II one peice rear main small block from a 97 1/2 ton p/u. Dart Iron Eagle heads whit 2.05 in/1.60 ex 64cc chambers and 220cc intake runners. Lunati Bracketmaster hydraulic flat tappet cam .507"/.515" lift 254'/268' duration at .050". Scat forged steel 3.75" "383" stroker crank, 6" scat forged steel rods, KB hypereutectic silicon aluminum pistons. Edelbrock Victor Jr. tall with 1' phenolic carb spacer right below my Holley 4150 series double pumper jetted to # 74 in the front and #85 in the back with blue venturi sleeves. MSD probillet distributor with Blaster II coil and 6-AL box. Set at 42' total time BTDC on 93 octane pump gas i set down 387 whp @6600 rpm and 449 lb-ft of torque @3780rpm with Dyno Jet series chassis dyno at Meridian Automotive in Meridain idaho. best et was 12.57 @ 107mph with 1.78 60ft times.

So i might know a thing or two about building and engine but am clueless about EFI so lay off a bit huh.....lol

Well nitrous is a good one... but since every one is saying it ill be different... personally i think the best one besides nitrous was putting my new summer rims and tires on... some 235/45/17's on and the tires have a nice firm side wall... even the few months i had them on with stock suspension it cornered pretty well with the stock suspension (it might also have something to do with the car only had 15,000kms on it so something like 6,000 miles there for the suspension was not all worn in ) but defiantly Nitrous if you want speed.
