It is not that it is a dead topic, but people don't look at it anymore because IT HAS been done.
They look more towards the stuff that hasn't been done, so Eco swap is kinda old news.
Now who has Turboed their swapped Ecotec???

There im on the list As for turbo'ing.. I will be doing this very very soon. Just not too smart about turbos. Dont want to get the wrong crap and have it not fit. Its not my engine wont be able to handle the power because I bought all the goodies so it could I really havent had too much time to finish the turbo motor build up because it has been pretty horrible here in indiana weather wise. Now that its warming up and the snow has finally melted Im on it. When the engine is finally done Im gonna have to take a trip out of town and show a few people it in person. Suncavi being one of them. Whoever said you cant have performance, style & speed all in one package obviously hasnt run into me haha.

Who is the one to do the Ecotec Getrag 5 speed??? lol
Well come on over, you need to break the motor in right?? Also, I am going to whoop your ass in racing.

Everything cost me about $1200, but that is with some killer ass deals tho, I wouldn't count that as any kinda price orientation.
I think it is more in $1500-1600 range. Maybe less now since it is getting old.

This swap is not old, only what 4 people have it? That is not old.
You have to give people time to respond, nt everyone is on the board all day.

Um.. i think right now I have suncavi beat on the ecotec motors lol. I blew one, sold 2 spares that I could've used after I blew mine, and The race motor is almost completely built. No stand alone computer yet but.... it will come

Yas, was that a challenge to me directly? lmao. The drive down to you should be suffiecient enough for a 0 mile freshly built race motor hopefully. If we decide to race when I do come down, it will be at the track and I want some video of it As for the 5 speed swap. well, Im doing that also. I should be getting rid of my 93 Saturn just to get all the parts i need for it. I have no need for 3 cars. 2 will do me just fine up here.

To be honest the swap is kind of old for me. But more and more people are attempting it though. I still get questions on what all I had to do to get it to work, how much it cost me. Mine cost me $900 total. Not counting the race motor Im building I've already cashed over 4800 on it. Trust me, it will be something to see.

Challenge straight at you Craig. lol
John yea I have been through many, and everything gets old for me, so I am constantly on my crap so that I don't get bored of it, just like Craig building that motor and stuff.

Hey Yasmin, you do realize when I come down I probably wont be boosted. But thats cool. I want you to help me pick out a killer t3/t04e setup. I am not sure if I want to go internal or external wastegate yet either. I dont want it to sound like a friggen semi either being all loud if i went external. I know the stories about the internal ones though. Boost creep and all. So when you get a chance email me.

it was meant more that SunCavi has went from a 2.2 auto to a 2.2 5 speed, to a 2.4, then a getrag swap and now the Ecotec. I think he has you beat.
As for your turbo setup external wastegate is not any louder. Now if you vent it to the ait then yes. Just vent it inot the exhaust.

Ah well yeah he has me beat then. I went from a 97 2.2 3 speed auto to a 5 speed manual, then went from ecotec auto trans (trans never made it into the engine bay though) to now race ecotec motor with the 5 speed. Just dont have the clutch and flywheel stuff yet. Got everything else in, I still want to do the B&M shifter but not sure when.
