A post to clear up the HO swaps and secret cams

Now I want to put this here as a clear reference for junk yard shoppers.. I've searched for different things and this is what I've come up with

Cams:
Intake: 95 2.3 LO engine
Exhaust: 90-94 2.3L LO VIN D

Intake Manifold:
Any 90-94 HO manifold..
Any 90-95 LO manifold..

Throttle bodies:
Any 90-95 HO or LO throttle body...

Throttle body brackets for those with cruise control:
A 95 2.3L engine with cruise control

Is this all correct? The only issue I have is on the NY Jbodies HO manifold swap it says if you're doing the swap with a 56mm HO t/b it's best to use a 93+ t/b.. is there any particular reason or was it just a mistake made at the time? NYJ 2.3 HO mani

Also on the NYJ page it says only a 93-94 Quad 4 LO exhaust cam.. although I'm certain that is an error and it is any 90-94. NYJ Cam secrets

Is this all correct? I'm trying to save myself the headaches of having to search for all of this again and getting conflicting information.. as well as anyone else looking for it.. it should be in the faq

In 95, the 2.3 was a regular 2.3. Not a LO. Since they didn't do any Ho or Lo in 95, you can just say a 95 2.3. The Lo had 160 in some case so the 95 is just a 2.3, not a LO nor an Ho.

Another thing, you can find an Ho manifold on a Lo. So don't give away if you find a Lo

I have a HO 2.3TB from a 91?, can't remember got it off ebay, lol, I just had to lengthen a wire harness for the IAC sensor, because the sensor faces a different way.

I had a 2.3L TB that had to be 'modded' like the one from NY jbody before.

No so for this current one I have though.

But its looks almost EXACTLY like the current 2.4L TB.

TPS and IAC looks the same and facing the same direction. (IAC)
None of the NY Jbody redrill and tapping necessary.

Of course there is one less small vac port on there, and the throttle lever is rotated a little dif.

I need to get some pics up or someting.

Fair enough so I suppose any throttle body will do, although a 93+ one will require less modding mastin?

Also to add ot the thread.. a list of cars which have these engines..

95 2.3L Quad 4 - Pontiac Sunfire, Chevrolet Cavalier, ??Pontiac grand am??

2.3l HO 90-94? - Pontiac grand am gt, chevy beretta gtz, ...?

2.3l LO 90-94 - pontiac grand am, olds achieva, calais, some rare grand prix's?

Probably, since I'm guessing that the car I pulled it from was +93.

All I know is I was in a rush to find just the bracket.
Well found the bracket, CC module, and TB all together.

Everything was on the LO style manifold, so I just snatched everything but the mani.
Didn't noticed the similarities until after I had the TB ported to 59mm.
Than I was like 'oh snap ' they look practically the same.
