Well the other day I got into a conversation about intakes with this tool about our intake setups. he has an 00 cavalier and I have an 01 both z-24s. The only difference is that I have the High Output manifold from an Olds and he's still on the stock black looking thing with an injen intake. I literally stood there and took his BS for about an hour about how much weight I added and that I actually hindered the power of my car with that intake manifold blah blah blah.
He actually told me that the stock is better and he will not let it die until he proves me wrong. Someone hook me up with an answer eh who's got the better intake setup?
me : Modified intake with a high output intake manifold from an olds
him : Injen Intake Stock manifold
man what a tool... and if I'm wrong I'll never live it down, help me out guys?
(going premium later this month hopefully)
does he weigh more than you? If so then tell him it is there as a handicap for when you race to make things even.
This is only heresay on my part, but I thought I read once where someone flow tested both manifolds and the stock flowed better, but someone else dynoed the HO manifold with matching throttle body and got 10HP.
So I don't know.
My *personal* guestimations would be that a stock manifold, ported to match a 62mm TB would be best. Feel free to disagree.

your not adding 100lbs here.. cmon. if its porperly port matched and has HO TB with an intake i bet you saw a good gain. intake alone wont do much.
Sven you totally quarterloafed your computer..
My suggestion is the venom.(only if you like wasting money like me)...It fits upto 66mm throttles, I use 62mm.But there is no way your losing power your buddy doesnt know what he's talking about, some of the fastest J's on the site use the HO manifold like Karo putting 250whp done N/A.

Yes officer I knew the speed limit was 50
wow karo puts up 250?
I raced him (the tool) and his ass was mine. beat him by about a car length, he said he shifted bad but I missed a gear too so... I still beat him. We're pretty much stock save for he has a better aftermarket exhaust and the intake.
I really wish someone would really put this whole HO thing to bed. thanks guys.
