Does anyone konw if the stock 2200 SFI box gives or restricts power from your throttle body. It seem like on my 2001 2200 it gives it more mid to high RPM pull, but i could be wrong. Does anyone know?

I didn't notice much of a difference when I removed mine, just a little more intake noise

straight piping will allow the air to flow straight to the tb. if you leave the box on it'll disperse in there and you won't have a straight pull of air. it's better to take it off.

then again it's just an intake and you only have the 2200. it doesn't make much difference.

If you are talking about the second air box with the 2200 on it, the only restriction in that box is the plastic tube that is inside the stock rubber tube. So if you remove that (which you would have done for an after market intake) you're gettin rid of all the resistence you can without removing the box.

Also, I heard it can be good to leave that second air box, so if the engine needs air like NOW its got a little storage of it. Cuz if its goota get X amount of air.... It will get more from a box with a 3 inch tube, then a 3 inch tube alone.

i had a injen intake on my 1999 2200, whixh removes the whoe stock intake. i got a RK SS hood and went back to the stock intake set-up with a K&N filter and modified airbox. except for being a bit quieter i didnt notice any performance difference at all.

What about the breather tube? Is it better to leave that attached to the 2200 box, or is it better to pull that off, and put a small aftermarket cone filter-ish thing on there?

You can put a breather filter on. Its just to put burnable oil fumes into your air intake.

I read somewhere that that can be bad with time, as the oil can build up on your intake walls. Im still looking into this though.
