Snapped a pushrod
Saturday, April 02, 2005 12:19 PM
I was wondering if anybody else has snapped a rod? I snapped one yesterday and was wondering why that happened. Also a piece of the rod fell inside where the pushrod goes and I can't see it. I was wondering if this will cause any damage if i leave it in there because I really don't feel like taking off the head again.

Thanks in advance

Sal

Get a reach line, Then just grab the edge and pull it out.

Where can I buy a reach line? Is that the name of the tool?

Thanks

I was told that in a V-8 the broken off part would fall into the oil pan. Would this be the case for our 4 cylinder OHV.

Thanks

yes, it SHOULD end up in the pan. i suggest getting it out. On my first motor, I broke 3 the first time i cracked it.......then all 8 next time i tried to start it......problem fixed now though.
