im looking to make my own exhaust, i have an 04 Cavalier with a magnaflow muffler. I want 2.25" pipes the whole way, i don't want to buy a header because don't have the money to spend on that, so i just wanted any input to see if this is even a smart thing to do. What im planning on doing is getting a magnaflow cat, eliminating the resonator and just bolting it up to the header. Im not experienced with exhaust so i appreciate any help. Thanks

custom cat back is the way to o but DEFFINETLY add a resonator
Yeah definately add a resonator, I dont have one at the moment but will be getting one VERY soon. With out one your exhaust will probably sound raspy at higher RPM's
I personally prefer no resonator.

"Hey man is that a Cavalier?" "Yeah." What you got in it?" "It's stock." "Oh."

no need for a new 02 sensor
Im a Xbox 360 fanboy...and damn proud of it!!
I had a custom cat-back bent up for my ECOTEC (2.25" pipe)--the car loved it. Better power all around. The resonator issue depends on what muffler you have. I have an OBX muffler on mine with no resonator, and it is NEVER raspy at all. I am putting a header on, after which I will add the resonator though.
Hey red04cav.........whatd it run you to have the pipe bent and everything welded and installed?
