i know i need to do something to the ECU but i'm not sure, I AM NOT asking to take off my Speed limiter, i have no need to go past 170km/h.......also what engine mods are needed to go past the 6500 rpm..........the only thing that comes to mind is stiffer valve springs, anything else?
Balance and blueprint, lighter flywheel, lighter (forged) internals. Then, after that is all done, you have to buy a stand alone, or convert back to OBD-1, because there simply is no way to edit the ECU at this time. There should be something out within the year, depending on how long you want to wait.

done and done, then what?
Depends on what system you are using to control it, if you have a standalone, rev limiters should be programmable in the software you got with the standalone, if you have an OBD-1 system, you'll have to find a programmer to change your EEPROM.

The most important part of raising the rev is to do your valvtrain appropriately. Be sure that your lifters, valve springs, and cams can handle it.
VALVE FLOAT IS BAD
Well, i plan on getting an e-manage, but don't think i can go over the rev limiter. cause it would need to control spark. probably possible that way, but i'd rather find a programmer.
what i was really getting at by my question was does anyone know of any programmers out there for the 95 2.2L obd1? is it the same as the one's for the 93 2.2L engine. Thats the latest i've seen, or maybe its 94 year.
ya, i've had that problem already... grrr... with code readers.
How do i convert to OBD1??
i heard i can swap in a 95computer and chip it with the HO chip.
is the computer plug and play???
if not how do i go about that?
thanx!
its definatly NOT plug and play, i converted a OBO1 cav to a OBO2 system, its took a long time and was a PITA.
Whats balancing and blueprinting mean?
Balancing & Blueprinting is nothing more than machining different engine parts to specific tolerances. more specically balancing is a ratio between Reciprocating weight (Piston, rings, wrist pin, and small end of connecting rod) and Rotating weight (Big end of connecting rods, rod bolts & nuts, rod bearings, & oil supply to crankshaft bearings) to balance a v8 i think its like 50% Reciprocating plus 100% rotating. and basic bluprinting is Bore & hone cylinders (usually w/Deck plates) and hone to the correct clearance. Re-size connecting rods (big end & sometimes small end), turn & Index crankshaft, 3 angle valve job, fitting valve guides to a specific clearance, setting up valve springs to the right installed height & pressure, both open & closed hope this fully answered your question - cody
ok its not plug and play, i need to rewire the whole engine!!!
the 95 computer wont be able to read the sensor of the engine??
is there a how to?
i think it would be just time consuming...
if you rotate your tach counter-clockwise it should raise the redline, however don't go too far or it will start to go back down.
sorry couldn't resist.

Don't forget cams. You'll want a cam profile that makes power at that RPM.
If its worth doing its worth over doing.
i dont mean to sound stupid but does anybody know where to by a standalone system?
It wouldnt be any fun if it was easy.
Well you can get your PCM reflashed thru J-Body Performance, they change pretty much anything you want them to and for the price you get two more reflahses if they are needed to fine tune the program. Ive had a few back and forth emails abotu getting it done to my car, but the price is pretty steep, something like 780 canadian and around 580 USD i believe plus shipping. Im waiting on a response about what the turnaround time will be to determine if i do send it to them or not, this is my daily driver and i cant have it down for very long at one time.
Check it out, there is some good info on there front page

They can? can someone elaborate on this more? I just want the rev limiter changed, maybe after i get to the dyno if i'm still making power up there, then i'll change it, but looking for info early. I like to research.
