ok guys i know thats there been discussions aobu this , but i cant seem to find them on the search thing , well anyways, i have a 99 2200 cavi, and im thinking about doing the 3.8 sc swap , i have a friend that well sell me the engine for 500 bucks, so im thinking about getting it , i saw a pic of a cavi with that engine the other day on this forum , i dont remember where though, any info about it would be great

Do you live any where near New Brunswick? or some where around there... because i remember some one posting about a guy around there is doing these 3.8L swaps into the newer jbodys
You will need the engine, wiring harness, custom tuned PCM, tranny, clutch, custom flywheel, custom sub-frame and mounts, custom wiring harness, clutch master, clutch cables and shifter assembly, throtle cable among other things. There is a lot of fabrication to this swap. You can get the new sub-frame/mounts and a custom wiring harness from Double Z Automotive (doublez@eastliink.ca) which will make the swap much easier to do. If you are having a shop do it for the first time and they are going to do the fabrication then count on 130+ hours to get everything fabricated and installed. This is not an easy swap and you should make sure that you have the skill and money to pull it off before starting. Search the performance forum I have posted lots of info about this swap there, also check out my cardomain site for all kinds of pics of the swap. Aight man , thanks for the info , i really am intrested in doing this swap , and right now i have about 1500 , but the engine is going to cost me 500, so yea, ive heard these cars with this engine well hit 14s stock , is that true , hope it is, lol
you could probaly swap in a 2.4, put a turbo on it for a lot less than the cost of this swap.
or even put some nitrous on it

Wouldnt an sc 3.8 be lots faster than a turbo 2.4?
