i looked all over and i still cannot figure out where to splice the blue wire on my gauge. I was told to splice into the purple wire coming from the O2 sensor on the intake manifold, not the O2 on the exhaust. i looked for the O2 on the manifold and cant find anything. does someone have ainfo for me or a digram where the O2 is at. I realy want to get this gauge hooked up. Thanks for your help.
what else has to be spliced, just wondering because i was looking at getting one

Im pretty sure thats it. O and mabey a wire for power. So it can light up.
so to hook up an air/fuel gauge you just splice into the purple o2 sensor wire and a power and it works? you dont have to do anything with fuel?

purple 02 sensor on exhaust mani
power
ground
interior dimmer switch
Where is the exhaust mani O2 sensor, i cant find it. I can only find the O2 behind the cat and i fallowed that to the engin and spliced the purple wire, and a funny reading. Where is the Exhaust Mani O2? THanks.
I can't tell what year or engine your car has, but there is a primary O2 sensor before the cat, just keep following the piping and your see it. Also, do NOT tap the wire on the second one, the air/fuel at that point is not accurate at all. You want the O2 sensor before the cat. ifs you have the 2.2, its on a ironish rusted manifold thats right in your face when you open the hood. As for 2.4 i know that manifold is behind the engine, near the firewall, so, bend behind there ,and just look.
do i plice between the O2 and the gray connector or after the connector.
O2-----------Splice---------Connector-------------
or
O2-----------------------------Connector-----splice--------

well, either wil work as long as you choose the right wire after the connector. sometimes, the colors of the wires can change after a connector. But, if you can make sure you are taping the same wire, i'd try to put it in a place thats far enough away from the exhaust manifold, cause that thing gets very hot, like 600+ F.
you don't want the wire to burn, if you can, try to get some wire loom to put on your wire, and zip tie that to the other wires, to make it look better if you want. I hope that helps.
ok, thanks. I think i got it now. It is just floating around. Thanks!
Spliec AFTER the connecter, like you showed in your second diagram:
O2-----------Connecter------|splice for gauge|----
Splicing between the sensor and the connecter will cause the O2 to malfunction. Not always, but you run that risk.
And I'd reccomend disconnecting the battery while splicing.. just because.
